Magnaguard droids, also known as IG-100 Magnaguards, were elite droids that wielded electro staffs. They wielded this weapon similar to a lightsaber utilizing form II lightsaber combat. Some of them served as Grievous' personal bodyguards. General Grievous uses them for personal protection, hence the nickname General Grievous' bodyguards. These droids have a power receptor on their chests that allows them to continue fighting even with their heads incapacitated, although recklessly and wildly due to being separated from their photoreceptors.

The minifigure
A Lego® minifigure was made for The Clone Wars line. It first appeared with the 7673 MagnaGuard Starfighter set. In 2009 the minifigure was included with the 7752 Count Dooku’s Solar Sailer set.
