Greedo was a male Rodian bounty hunter. He was killed by Han Solo in the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tatooine. Greedo was sent to find Han Solo by Jabba the Hutt because Han owed Jabba cash. The Lego® group released a minifigure of this character and included him in several Lego® Star Wars video games.
Background[]
Early Life[]
Greedo was born around 44 BBY on Rodia, as the son of the bounty hunter Greedo the Elder. Eventually, his family moved to the desert world of Tatooine. In 32 BBY, he accused young Anakin Skywalker of cheating at the Boonta Eve Classic race. Later, Greedo became a criminal and was present at Jabba the Hutt’s court.
Clone Wars[]
During the Clone Wars, he and another criminal kidnapped Baron N. Papanoida’s daughters, Che Amanwe and Chi Eekway. Eventually, Papanoida challenged Greedo at the Mos Eisley Cantina and afterward managed to rescue his daughters.
Duel with Han Solo[]
During the Imperial Period, he continued his service for Jabba the Hutt. In 0 BBY, Greedo met with the scoundrel Han Solo in Mos Eisley Cantina to demand payment for his boss. As Solo wasn’t able to give Greedo the credits he demanded, the situation turned into a duel of life and death. Both Solo and Greedo shot at each other with their blasters. While Greedo missed, Han Solo shot the Rodian bounty hunter to death.
Role in Lego® Star Wars[]
Minifigure[]
A Greedo minifigure appeared in the 2004 released 4501 Mos Eisley Cantina set. The figure’s legs were cast in a turquoise color and the minifigure featured a brown belt. It featured a unique torso with a print of Greedo's vest on it. Its arms were also unique to this figure and depicted the stripes of the bounty hunter’s suit. Greedo’s hands are turquoise, matching the color of the head. The Greedo figure was the first Lego® minifigure to consist of a unique Rodian head mold, which was cast in solid plastic. A repainted version of it would later be reused with the 2009 released Onaconda Farr minifigure, and with the 2011 released Wald.
Game character[]
Greedo is a playable character in both Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy (Console) and in Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. He carries a blaster and is a bounty hunter, meaning he can throw thermal detonators and can fire bounty hunter rockets. Greedo is also an unlockable bonus character in LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars. He could be unlocked by collecting all the minikits of The Hidden Enemy level.
